Description
MOTS-C is a 16-amino-acid mitochondrial-derived peptide encoded by the mitochondrial 12S rRNA gene (MT-RNR1), discovered in 2015, that regulates cellular metabolism, particularly glucose uptake and fat oxidation in skeletal muscle.
