Description

5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule inhibitor of the enzyme nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), which preserves NAD+ levels to enhance mitochondrial function, promote fat oxidation, and improve metabolic efficiency.

  Mechanism of Action

5-Amino-1MQ selectively binds to and inhibits NNMT, a membrane-permeable enzyme that methylates nicotinamide (a NAD+ breakdown product) using SAM as a methyl donor, producing 1-methylnicotinamide (1-MNA).
